Urban Dictionary
@ 11/06/2008 – 01:12:34
This site is not necessarily for everyone, as it is describing slang, but I found it, because I heard a song on the radio talking about showing someone your grill and had no idea what it meant.
Here is the definition of the word 'Grill' that I found on the site...
I was highly confused, so I had to find somewhere to look it up and I found this site. I think this site is also handy for monitoring the slang coming out of your children’s mouths. My mom wouldn’t let us use slang around the house. We always had to speak perfect English. I am extremely grateful that she did, because It made me better able to communicate.Meanings of grill:
- Teeth
- A gold/diamond plate that is molded for your teeth. It is decorated with diamonds and/or gold. Usually worn by rappers, Nelly, Paul Wall, Mike Jones and many others.
There are several ways to surf this site. The easiest way is to type in the word you want to define in the dictionary, like I did. Put in the term you want to define and click the search button.
Or, you can go through alphabetically, A-Z, and browse slang words by letter. Or you can click Random at the very end of the A to Z listing and get a random word. There are also random listings that change on the main page.
You can even add your own slang terms to the site if a search for the word turns up nothing.
I wouldn’t want my children using a lot of this terminology, that is for sure. Another warning that I just noticed: some of the examples do have profanity in them, so I wouldn’t recommend showing this site to kids.

Update: 14/06/2008
I submitted the word iBanter to the Urban Dictionary, as I run a few sites called that, and it has now been approved, listed and it's definition is available to view here. Please give it a 'Thumbs-up' vote if you do!

Create your own widgets at WidgetBox
@ 10/06/2008 – 22:48:25
This very cool looking widget below, is one that I created for the Site Share Blog using the WidgetBox website. If you'd like to add it to your own blog or website, then click on the 'Get Widget' button below it.
Widgets of this sort are a really great way of engaging and keeping in contact with your readers, by offering them a way of keeping up-to-date with all of your latest posts, by letting them add the widget to their own websites and blogs. What's unique about WidgetBox, is that anyone who adds your widget to their site can make all the changes they need to the widget to make it fit their site's design - like changing the size or colours - without affecting the original widget. Why not try it by clicking on the ''Get Widget' button at the bottom of my one above.
WidgetBox also has a very large community of members who may rate and comment on your widget and who also may become new readers of your blog once they discover it.
To use your own WidgetBox widgets here in your blog's side-bar, you'll first have to enable one of the 'HTML Modules' in your blog's design wizard (HTML modules are not available in group blogs) and add the code for your widget in that.
If you need any help, please ask in a comment below...

Newspaper Clipping Generator
@ 07/06/2008 – 14:50:40
Generator sites are a very fun way of adding unique content to any website or blog and this one has to be one of my all-time favourites.
It's called the 'Newspaper Clipping Generator' and it allows you to add your own peice of text to an image that looks like a snippit clipped out of a newspaper.
Here's one that I just created a moment ago for this post:
One very good use I can think of for it, apart from it just being a fun way to add more interest to your website page or blog post, is to use it for adding interesting looking pull-quotes to your pages.Go ahead and give it a try for yourself (click here), add it to your own blog or website and then leave a comment here with a link to where we can see it.

@ 05/06/2008 – 17:50:46
This is a very cool site, that allows you to bookmark not just the links to your favourite sites, but snippets of information that you find on them also.
This is what Clipmarks says:
Like scissors for web pages, Clipmarks lets you capture the specific content on a web page that you want others to see.Once you've clipped something, you can share it anywhere on the web, including Facebook, your blog, by email or on clipmarks.com. learn more
There are lots of things you can do with your clips:
- Save them on Clipmarks.com Your clips can be saved publicly for others to learn from or be entertained by, or you can make them private. Either way you've got a fully searchable collection of great things you find on the web.

Here's a clip that I made by clipping a demo video and some more infomation about Clipmarks:clipped from clipmarks.com
Instead of linking to entire web pages, Clipmarks lets you clip exactly what you want others to see. Our browser add-on lets you save and share what you're reading on the web with greater precision than is possible with links. There are lots of things you can do with your clips:

iBanter Photo Pimp - The Free Image Host With A Twist
@ 05/06/2008 – 04:10:15
Don't use up all of your media storage space here at Blog.co.uk, by filling it with all of your photos and other images. Consider using a third-party image hosting site - like PhotoBucket - instead.
I've come across a really good image hosting site, that allows you to upload, store and share an unlimited amount of images, with no file-size, bandwidth or time restrictions and is totally FREE too.
The site is called 'iBanter Photo Pimp' and it also allows you to add some really cool effects to your photos and images if you want to - like silly hats, big noses, funny teeth and various bling items, etc.
To give you an example, you can turn a photo like this one:
... Into one like this one:
What's more, there's a social element to the site too, which allows other people to rate and pimp your photos. Remember, it's FREE, so just go ahead and have some fun with it by clicking here...
